Beginner’s Guide to The Basics of Poker

    • Three of a kind – This is a combination of three cards of the same rank with two other cards each of a different rank.
    • Two pairs – This consists of a pair of one rank and another pair of different rank (plus any fifth card of a different rank).
    • One pair – A combination of one pair with the other three cards of a different rank.
    • No pair – This hand contains nothing.
  • Betting – Each betting round designates one player as the first better. Betting turn always moves to the left from player to player with no one able to check, bet, or even drop.
  • Betting Limits – There are various ways of fixing a betting limit, A limit should be unalterable throughout the game unless the poker players agree in unanimous to change the stakes. Popular limits include Fixed Limit, Pot Limit, Table Stakes, Whangdoodles, Poverty Poker, No Limit, and Limits on Raises.
  • Wild cards – These cards add variety to the game and increase the chances of getting a rare combination such as a full house or a straight flush, wild cards include The Joker, The Bug, Deuces, One-eyed Cards, and Low Hole Card.

            These are not everything there is to learn, but these help a lot more than you think. Having greater knowledge means having greater skills, while you understand the basics of poker, you allow yourself to learn more for a better game.
